WORLD HUNGER SUNDAY - MAY 17
When we gather each week, we’re reminded of the values that bind us together—compassion, generosity, and a responsibility to care for others. Today, I want to talk about a need that stretches far beyond our walls, yet calls directly to those very values: the fight against world hunger.
Right now, millions of people across the globe wake up not knowing where their next meal will come from. Families are forced to make impossible choices—parents skipping meals so their children can eat, communities struggling through drought, conflict, and poverty. Hunger is not just about food; it affects health, education, opportunity, and dignity.
But here’s the important part: this is not a hopeless problem. It’s a solvable one—and we can be part of that solution.
We may feel far removed from these struggles, but our actions here can ripple outward in powerful ways. A single donation can provide meals, support sustainable farming, or bring clean water to a village. When we come together as a community, even small contributions add up to life-changing impact.
Giving is not about the size of the gift—it’s about the spirit behind it. It’s about choosing to care, choosing to act, and choosing to extend our blessings to others who need them most.
So today, I invite you to reflect on what you can give. Whether it’s a financial contribution, raising awareness, or simply keeping this mission in your prayers, every effort matters.
Let’s be a community that doesn’t just talk about compassion—but lives it.
Thank you.
