Holy Eucharist
8:00 AM
As we are invited today to consider what it means to be managers (rather than owners) of all that we have, it is crucial to recall that we are bought with a price. "Christ Jesus, himself human, . . . gave himself a ransom for all." Apart from the generosity of God we have nothing—we are nothing. By God's gracious favor we have everything we need.
Blessing of Backpacks, Students & Teachers
10:15 AM
Takes place during the 10:15 service.
Coffee Hour & Fellowship

Christian Education

Our learning should never cease. God gave us his Holy Word to learn from and to grow in a sound and loving relationship with Him and with others. There are many learning opportunities at St. Peter’s:

  • Saint Peter's Early Learning Center  – half day programs available 2, 3 or 5 days a week; St. Peter’s Early Learning Center (ELC) is a Christian-based preschool emphasizing academics as well as art, music and gym.  MORE INFO

  • Sunday School – The Sunday Church School (SCS) is in session every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. beginning the second Sunday in September through mid-June. All children 3 years old through grade 6 are welcome to attend. SCS education consists of age appropriate lessons in Bible, worship, worship music and stewardship.

  • Sunday Adult Forum – Pastor-led study for adults held on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM during the academic year and at 10:00 AM during the summer.

  • Men’s Bible Study & Fellowship – Every Thursday night at 8:00 PM

  • Women’s Bible Study & Fellowship – Every Thursday night at 8:00 PM

  • Classes for First Holy Communion – Children in the second grade are eligible to begin receiving Holy Communion. In a half-day retreat with Pastor and their parents, children will learn the importance of the Lord’s Supper and the Lutheran perspective on the body and blood of Christ.

  • Confirmation Bible Study & Catechism Class – Middle school age children, typically at the end of their eighth grade school year, are invited to affirm their baptismal promises and become a confirmed member of the church. To prepare for this very important milestone in their lives, St. Peter’s provides a two year confirmation education program. At the beginning of their seventh grade year, eligible youth meet twice a week for Catechism and Bible studies.

  • Vacation Bible School – A five day summer program for ages 3 -12. Usually held in mid-August, Vacation Bible School is always a fun adventure with Jesus! Children enjoy music, games and crafts all centered on a Biblical theme.

  • New Member Classes – For anyone interested in becoming a member of St. Peter’s or desiring to learn about the Lutheran faith. This 4-session education opportunity is provided as needed.
